Hannah Lobley

Paperwork' is a unique recycling technique using the printed pages of unwanted books and paper. The pages are transformed back into a solid wood like material. Traditional wood working methods are then used to create sculptural objects from that material. The surface patternation of the paper when the objects are lathe turned echoes wood grain. Wood becomes paper becomes wood.

I specialise in designing and making sustainable ceramics. I incorporate recycled waste materials into the clay body. The forms I create are sculpted by hand and so are unique works of art. The gentle blue and green hues vary in each piece as does their shape to give artisan appeal. The surface is smooth and polished like a pebble. They have been desccribed as tactile, tranquil and luxurious.
